Director and Stud Manager
Grace Muir grew up with horses at Fawley Stud where she worked with her father, David John (Ian) Muir who ran one of the most successful studs of its time. Initially, Grace broadened her knowledge of thoroughbreds and the racing industry by working for Kim Brassey, Jenny Pitman and Richard Hannon, followed by KBIS, the equine insurance specialists. After taking over management of NFS in 1998, Grace extended her knowledge of thoroughbreds further, and she led a programme of development and diversification for the business that helped it not only to survive but thrive. She realised a long-held passion for the welfare of thoroughbred ex-racehorse by establishing HEROS charity in 2006 and, since then, and with support from her parents and the NFS team, Grace has successfully rehomed more than 600 horses. Now, with an equally strongly-held passion for teaching and learning, Grace is helping youngsters to learn and thrive in an equestrian environment driven by the highest concern for equine welfare.
